Lamps and Art of Stained Glass and Fine Woods
18" high
A backlighted layered-glass panel in a case of African Mahogany
trimmed with Hawaiian curly Koa and African Wenge.

The color intensity and translucency changes depending on the ambient light in the
room, closely resembling hot, flowing pahoehoe lava in similar natural light.

The lava is seen flowing in a wide, intense river, with glowing a'a lava in the foreground.
The case stands off of the base in such a way that this piece can be used
as a table lamp. The front trim of the case is some exceptional curly Koa
and the base is book-matched African Mahogany trimmed with Wenge.
These works are designed and created by Skip Thomsen of Forestville, California
The design and execution of each of these pieces is unique and
will never be reproduced. All original designs and patterns for
the glass and the cases are destroyed after the piece is completed.
